i was introduced to a guy by my mom he didn't say a much just shook my hand said hi then bye, however the following week my mother told me that he had asked about me unfortunately my mom didn't go with the flow so i was thinking could this guy be interested? if so should i just go ahead and give him my #?

If he wasn't interested, he wouldn't have asked. Guys are not complicated, if we are not interested we don't ask. It's that simple. Give him your number or ask for his.

he might just be trying to be polite by asking about you? but i think you should wait and see a little more. Dont give your number right away... maybe get to know him more and how he feels exactly?

yes why not, theres no harm in it. get to know him, and then go from there. Some guys are hard to read (like me). They may not show they're interested but they really are, just too shy to show it.
