Imagine, you live on a farm for all your life. Your 9 years old, and you have a best friend. Her name is Betsy, and she's a cow. You've always fed her yourself, and show her where the best grass is. Then, one day you come home from school and she's not there. You ask your dad. She was slaughtered, so that some person could eat her. You've lost your best friend to a stupid idea that it's necessary to eat meat.
