What is a triathlon relay like?
I have completed a sprint distance triathlon before, but in a few weeks I will be doing a triathlon relay. I am curious as to where the "hand-off" might be and what is usually used in the hand-off (ex: timing chip, other item).

I have done two relays and am planning a third this summer. They are a great way to focus in on a specific discipline or get started into tris.
The transition is pretty straight forward. The velcro timing chip is transferred from one person to the next at the bike rack. The Subaru Series separates the relay teams from the rest of the pack so the team mates are not in the way of the single competitors.
