"Let the good times roll" in Farsi?
How does the phrase "Let the good times roll" translate to Farsi? I'm trying to figure out if the words "saa'at" and "khoob" would be used to mean "time" and "good", respectively. With the way sentences are spoken in Farsi, I reckon that "time" would precede "good" in the sentence structure? Thank you for any help you can give.
2 AnswersLanguages10 years agoWhy do convenience stores have ATMs?
Wondering if it is the product of some by-gone era when a lot of places would not accept credit/bank cards as payment, etc.
5 AnswersOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoDo commercials interrupt your episodes of "The Soup"?
Without fail every week, one or two local commercials will interrupt "The Soup" on E! Right in the middle of a clip or one of Joel McHale's jokes, suddenly we will see a commerical or two. Does anyone else experience this? It occurs about half-way through the episode.
1 AnswerComedy1 decade agoWhat do you do with "No Postage Necessary" business-reply envelopes for revenge?
Although some blogs advocate affixing the envelope to a brick or weighted box, it won't work these days: According to Post Office Domestic Mail Manual code 8.4.6, "BRM may not be used for any purpose other than that intended by the permit holder, even when postage is affixed. In cases where a BRM card or letter is used improperly as a label, the USPS treats the item as waste."
Perhaps you send it back empty? Shred the credit card offers and return them? Send a competitor's junk mail to them?

Curious if the Haiti and Chile earthquakes might affect the chances of inter-plate earthquakes, such as New Madrid.
2 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoHow do you survive volcanic ashfall?
With scientists studying the idea of the Yellowstone Supervolcano, which could cover half of the U.S. with ash, I am curious how the average person could stay alive.
3 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoCan landlords legally enforce minimum age policies for renters?
While looking at rental properties, one listing had the following restriction: "At least one tenant must be 55 or older." Seems like an arbitrary and ageist policy. Curious as to how that is any different than discriminating based on race, gender, or physical ability.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoAsh Wednesday and Lent: Are they Biblical?
Many Christian posters in R&S state that Catholic observances such as Ash Wednesday and Lent are not written in the Bible. Reading the Book of Esther, you can find people using ashes in repentance. Also, it would seem that the 40 days in Lent are reflective of the Temptation of Christ.
Considering that the Trinity, sola scriptura, and Satan being the Garden of Eden snake are not stated in the Bible, Ash Wednesday and Lent seem very Biblical in comparison.

A friend of mine said it sounded like another country song, but we have been wracking our brains trying to figure out which one.
4 AnswersCountry1 decade agoDo authentic Mexican chicken enchiladas use diced white meat chicken?
I visited an allegedly authentic Mexican food restaurant in Shreveport and ordered chicken enchiladas. Living in south Texas, I am used to the enchiladas having shredded chicken. I am curious as to which type is truly authentic or if it just depends on the cook/chef.
10 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoIs The History Channel's 'Apocalypse Man' filmed at real locations in New Orleans?
Rudy Reyes appears to be breaking into abandoned buildings in a city. He occasionally mentions stories from Katrina; for example, that no libraries were looted (as he breaks into an abandoned one whose bookshelves were covered in plastic tarps).
9 AnswersReality Television1 decade agoCan parsnips be used to sweeten cakes?
I read that parsnips somehow convert starches into sugar, and was wondering of they could be used in place of refined sugar (or at least to help reduce the amount of sugar) in baked goods.
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat is a triathlon relay like?
I have completed a sprint distance triathlon before, but in a few weeks I will be doing a triathlon relay. I am curious as to where the "hand-off" might be and what is usually used in the hand-off (ex: timing chip, other item).
2 AnswersOther - Sports1 decade agoDoes anyone have any experience as a hotel breakfast attendant?
I saw a job listing for a hotel breakfast bar attendant at a Holiday Inn. I am curious what kinds of work goes into preparing breakfast for hotel patrons and what the salary range might be.
3 AnswersFood Service1 decade agoWhere do the nutrients and vitamins in Silk soy milk come from?
In the great debate between normal food consumption and veganism, constituents of the first group claim that there are deficiencies of calcium, B12, and other important nutrients in the diets of vegans and vegetarians. I drink Silk light chocolate soy milk and checked out the nutrition information (found here: http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/fo... ) and noticed that there are many nutrients in it, specifically calcium and B12. I am curious if they are derived from plant or animal sources.
4 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoWhich 'King of the Hill' episode features Bobby getting castigated by Hank for baking?
Bobby Hill was wearing oven mitts and baking with Peggy when Hank walked in and found him (gasp!) baking. I have searched through 'King of the Hill' episode listings looking for this particular one, but apparently Bobby baking was only a sub-plot and I am having difficulty locating the episode.
1 AnswerOther - Television1 decade agoIn memory of Billy Mays, what Mays infomercial do you remember the most?
This week has been a tough one on celebrities; first, Farrah Fawcett, then Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays. Billy peddled so many products over the years, and I am curious which one sticks out in your mind the most.
6 AnswersOther - Television1 decade agoWhat kinds of differences between American-flagged cruise ship and an internationally-flagged ship?
As I understand it, when choosing a cruise departing from The States, you have the choice of a USA-flagged ship and a ship that is flagged by another country. I am curious as to what differences I might expect to see in terms of cost, amenities, staff, food, etc.
7 AnswersCruise Travel1 decade agoAny vegan frosting recipes that are comparable to buttercream frosting?
I love buttercream frosting but recently began opening up to eating vegan and eating healthy. I love the idea of making dairy-free, gluten-free types of desserts for office get-togethers and bake sales for people who want something that tastes good and is good for them.

I understand how sun spots can interfere with satellites, but I am unsure of how sun spot cycles (such as the intensity expected in two or three years) can disturb power grids causing possible grid failures.
