Can parsnips be used to sweeten cakes?

I read that parsnips somehow convert starches into sugar, and was wondering of they could be used in place of refined sugar (or at least to help reduce the amount of sugar) in baked goods.

    Never heard of that. Parsnips are not sweet-tasting following cooking, so I don't think this would work.
