What do you do with "No Postage Necessary" business-reply envelopes for revenge?

Although some blogs advocate affixing the envelope to a brick or weighted box, it won't work these days: According to Post Office Domestic Mail Manual code 8.4.6, "BRM may not be used for any purpose other than that intended by the permit holder, even when postage is affixed. In cases where a BRM card or letter is used improperly as a label, the USPS treats the item as waste."

Perhaps you send it back empty? Shred the credit card offers and return them? Send a competitor's junk mail to them?

Update:

Well, Frank, I'm glad that I'm keeping the hourly-wage-earner employed. I really don't care if they read it or not (I don't send nasty-grams, just whatever is laying around or a magazine article); better than letting perfectly good credit card (or whatever) company envelopes and postage go to waste...

Those envelopes are opened by hourly wage workers who will throw away anything other than an application form. You'll cost them less than a buck, and your clever letter won't get read.

If you're that angry that this still seems like a good use of your time, then go ahead.

    Send them back, empty.

    This is the easiest way.

Grab the envelope, seal it, and drop it in the nearest mailbox (three seconds?). Presto!

They get charged for the postage, and I get to contribute to their "junk mail" pile.

    Aint it cool?

Shred and into the Recycle bin... really.

    Save a tree.
