Women who have had a tubal..........?
Do you regret it? What are your reasons and would you go back on it if you could?

I had a tubal ligation 2 years ago. Best freaking thing I ever did! I knew it would be. Unfortunately, it took 4 years, 2 abortions, 13 consultations with 13 different doctors, and my husband going in to yell at one with me to get it done.
You see, my husband and I never wanted children. However, it's not easy getting a doctor to give you a tubal ligation when you are under 25 and have no children (and they also don't care how many abortion you have had either, according to them "you might still change your mind.") So, during those 4 years, our BC failed us twice. Also, no one would give him a vasectomy either, in case you were wondering.
Look, sorry to rant so much. the reality is that it IS a big decision. however, I did quite a lot of research into it (books, psychological studies, etc.) and it came down to this...
The circumstances under which a woman is likely to regret it later and seek a reversal are:
1. Young, unmarried (or not in a long term relationship) women.
2. Women who have lost a child to death or other tradgedy
3. Women in a bad long term relationship who don't want more children with that man (i.e., if you remarry and are happy might want more with the new man)
4. Women who do it for primarily financial reasons.
The #1 reasons (according to a poll done of reversal specialists) that women who come to them seeking reversals are because they have remarried and want to have children with their new husband.
So, if YOU are done having children, and you don't think anything I've said applies to you, you are not likely to regret it. But, if any of those ring true, think about it a little longer. Good luck!

I am in the boat that I am considering having it, but I am also scared that I will regret it or feel like less of a woman. I asked a question like this last week or so and got very few answers.......Good luck to you though!!!
