A question about twins?

Let's say there are 2 sets of identical twins. 2 male, we'll call them A & B, and 2 female, they'll be known as C & D.

Okay now, If A was to have a child with C, and B was to have a child with D, would the babies look the same? Why or why not?

The babies although technically cousins, would look and genetically appear to be siblings. The babies would not look the same because they would get different parts of the parents DNA, just like any siblings who share the same parents.

It depends on what genes each baby gets.

    EX:

    At locus 1 A&B have alleles 6 and 7

    C&D have alleles 8 & 9

If baby AC gets allele 6 from dad, and 8 from mom, and baby BD gets allele 7 from dad and 9 from mom, the children would be completely different genetically at this locus.

Any combination of these alleles can be found in either child, it is possible for the cousins to not share any alleles, or to share all of them...both possibilities are pretty unlikely however. Chances are, the will appear as siblings genetically (about 50% of the same DNA) because of the situation.

Also though, haven't you ever seen siblings who look completely different from one another?

is this a riddle or trick question? Ooh, i hate those - i never figure them out.

i don't know, but doesn't every parent have dominant and recessive genes and what about the sex of the babies? i hope the girl baby would not look like the boy baby. He's got an enormous head.

Ok, what is the riddle please?

they would most likely appear very similar, but they would still have noticeable differences...even identical twins are slightly genetically different due to the different exposures in the womb and random genetic occurrences.
