Is Obi-wan Kenobi really more powerful than Darth Vader?

I say this because in Episode IV, Obi-wan says that he is more powerful than Vader, why is that?

    Yes he is much more powerful....and nobody can beat Ewan Mcgregor!

    Because he's his Jedi Master, vader (anakin skywalker) will always be his apprentice.
