What is an easy broadway song to sing?
I have to choose a broadway song (30 measures of one) to sing for an audition but I'm not a very good singer. What is a fairly easy song to sing?

Stay well clear of Wicked and Hairspray - both very overdone and the songs from Wicked are not easy to sing anyway - you need to be either a hell of a belter or have a great soprano voice, neither of which is exactly common! I get really sick of people recommending them as audition songs when in reality they're a very bad option! You could have a look at Adelaide's Lament from "Guys and Dolls" - technically it isn't a difficult song to sing but there's a lot of room to act within the song and really show character; maybe De-Lovely which is from "Anything Goes"; Where is Love from "Oliver" (which is a lovely song and again, technically not difficult but with a lot of space for emotion); or Whistle Down The Wind from the show of the same name - I wouldn't normally recommend an Andrew Lloyd Webber song but I think in your case it might work for you. I've heard it sung by a belter and a non-belter and it strikes me that it works either way. Break a leg!

A Chorus Line and Legally Blonde are really overdone, even though they're both great shows. How about "my new philosophy" from 'You're a good man, charlie brown'? It's a fun song that isn't too hard to sing. You can really show your acting off in that song, which is good if you're not a confident singer.
What show are you auditioning for? try to choose something by the same composer, or from the same period as the show you're going for, when auditioning.
Good luck! :D

I would try What I Did For Love from A Chorus Line or Ireland from Legally Blonde: The Musical.

"Mama Who Bore Me" from Spring Awakening
"Without You" from RENT
"I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked
Good luck!
