So i messed up my hair cut. what do i do!!!?

Question

Alright, so i went to a salon and asked them if they cut my hair up to my shoulders or maybe even a little passed the shoulders.

i kind of wanted a nice style to it. nothing boring or plain. however, the lady didn't give me a style and i figured i'd be alright without one. well, i've began to think that i should have styled it. right now, its just hanging to my shoulders. no layers or anything.

so my question is... what can i do with brown hair that only goes down to my shoulders, but still have a style to it?

p.s. i didn't have a picture of my hair but im hoping the descriptions above said it all. there's really nothing else to it.

i generally go for straight hair and some layers. even some "choppy but neat" ends. nothing to curly at the ends though. (and i know i sound picky...) but anything else is good! i'll take any advice. i'm also 18 and really dont want to look 12 lol.

alright, i have had the most sobb stories about short hair haha.
I love short hair, like i mean to my colar bone of course.
but it always seems that the hair dresser makes me look so gaaay!
mhmkay so i went to my cousin and she did my hair so amazing i love it, she gave me much layers. ok stop!....

Layers, Layers, Layers are what you want! they make your hair look like you have so much body, and you can do so much more with it rather than just balnd hair. so next time get a length your pleased with and tell them chopppy layers, it just does wonders. 
go on google and type in short hair cuts with layers.

Ok, that's good you know!  Lucky you!  Last time I cut my hair they were so short I couldn't do anything with them!
Anyway, If I were you I would go for hairstyle like alice's from twilight!  Her hair are so nice, they make her loook cute without seem childish, plus they have this "playful" look!
