I have a 5000 gal. pool which has a pH of 8.2. How do I lower it to ~7.2?
The chlorine level in my pool is very low. That doesn't makes sense because chlorine raises pH, so if the chlorine level is low, shouldn't the pH be low as well?

See Step 5 of the link that suggests the (careful) use of Muratic Acid (Muriatic?). Your pool chemical supplier should have it in stock. Also ask about super-chlorination often used after rain storms but also to kill germs that cause ear infections (discontinue use of the pool as recommended).
