Can you propose a better health care policy?

Those in Washington DC don't seem to be the sharpest crayons in the box. I'll bet we can come up with better policy right here on YA.

My proposal is way too simple for them. Construct National Charity Hospitals that offer reduced cost medical care. Nothing in this life is free. Everyone should pay something. Otherwise the system will be abused.

Cap malpractice lawsuits and jail people for frivolous ones.

Allow cross country health care insurance plans, remove restrictions to allow more competition.

    Deport Illegal aliens.

I think so. Just model our health care system after the ones that work the best for the most people in other nations. I hear that the French and the Norwegians are pretty happy with their systems. I don't get this heavy emphasis on creating a "uniquely American" system. If other nations have come up with systems that work, then let's use one of those.

Of course, sooner or later we as a species will have to realize that maintaining our health as a species or as individuals will be impossible in the face of an ever growing global human population.

There are a few thing that need to be addressed:

    1. Tort reform

    2. Ins plans must take everyone, those with preexisting conditions are treated and the government reimburses the ins comp. for the treatment of the preexisting condition

    3. The poor uninsured are given health ins at a rate they can pay for and the government pays the balance.

    4. Illegals get only basic emergence care then their home countries (they have universal health care) are billed for the expense

    5. Any money sent to foreign countries are taxed at the rate of 12%

Source(s): Or we simply make congressman have the same plan we have.

Yes I can. how about people actually work for their health care instead of getting it for free. Some people absolutely can't work, so they may not be able to afford health care. People who actually need it but can't afford it should be able to get it for free. Many people in this country don't want to work so they don't. They will be the first ones who will sign up for free health care. This isn't right. Why should hard working Americans pay more money so lazy people can get free health care. I am also sick of the illegal immigrants coming here and taking health care. They aren't even legal residents yet they use people's money. My mom works at a doctor's office and she is constantly telling us how some illegal immigrant came in because their kid a fever of 99 degrees or because they had a little bit of diarreah. If this health care bill passes people like that will fill up doctor's offices and ermegency rooms across America with their little issues when people who are dying will have to wait. This whole bill is stupid. If it passes I hope people have fun waiting days or weeks to see the doctor for a sick visit.

Mine is simple also, make a law that insurance is only for major medical expenses ( surgery, chemo, hospitalization, ect.). Routine office visits with general practitioners are payed out of pocket, the competition would bring the cost of that down, give vouchers to the poor and elderly and have a copay to discourage abuse.

    Tort reform.

    Insurance across state lines.

Save medicare and medicaid for major stuff.

ER visits if you are poor will be covered if it is determined that it is legitimate.

I don't know how much this would save but it wouldn't cost much.

Yes. I like your idea. Here are mine:

    1. Cut wasteful spending.

    2. Use stimulus money to build free clinics instead of funding pig odor studies and museums.

    3. Allow interstate purchase of health insurance.

    4. Legislation to force insurance companies to cover preexisting conditions.

    5. Lower politicians' salaries and benefits, outlaw earmarks and lobbying

    6. Enlarge Medicaid and Medicare to cover more people and cover them better

    7. Tax cuts

    8. Subsidize insurance premiums for families who don't qualify for Medicaid according to income

1- repeal the law that says you will get treatment without insurance.

#2- allow all medical procedures and treatment costs, as well as insurance, to be tax free

#3- require losers in civil suits to pay court costs.

#4- stop requiring doctors to purchase malpractice insurance

#5- make obese people pay more

#6- charge market price for all operations (stop giving insurance companies discounts)

#7 privatize medicare and phase it out

#8 privatize medicaid and phase it out

#9 encourage the use of generic drugs

    and

#10- allow doctors to make objective decisions without fear of being sued.

Two step plan for better and cheaper healthcare

Step 1: Reduce tax rates on the healthcare industry and all equipment it uses to 0%

Step 2: Deregulate the entire industry

These two, simple steps will lead to cheaper healthcare for everyone.

Address the real issues such as frivolous lawsuits & denial of coverage for preexisting conditions. The poor already have care through medicaid, SCHIP, health departments and other social programs.

  • 1 decade ago

None and make jobs available and health care available.

Get rid of all insurance they cost money not save it.
