1993 Bonneville AC Problem?

Over the course of this summer the ac performance has become poor to non existent. At idle it blows hot air and at high way speeds it just blows cool and not cold. The low pressure line is at 35 pounds and the A/C clutch engages. Though the low pressure line is cool and not cold to the touch(near the dryer). There is not any bearing noise coming from the compressor and seems to be working alright. I converted the refrigerant from R-12 to Red Tech a couple of years ago.

Does anyone have any ideas, any help would be appreciated.

Clean all the lines. With R134 your pressures should be 40 low and from 175 to 250 high. If your low will not go above 35 and you are getting a higher than 250 high side you have a blockage. If you cannot get the pressures up to the right level then either the compressor is bad or the orifice valve is bad. Most of the time when the orifice is bad the compressor has swarmed and shot aluminum filings into the lines. With that case you should change the compressor, orfice and the dryer all at the same time to be sure you have the problem cleared.
