loose 1/2 carat Diamond worth?
Found a loose diamond in my house i just moved into, guessing its about a half a carat, looks well cut, (have contacted prior owner) what would be a good guess at its worth?

I'm sure it's worth more than I can afford. I'd guess 500-900 depending if it looks like crap or not, but hey diamonds are diamonds.

can't tell: depends on cut, clarity, and color. all three make up the worth of precious stones. Take a piece of newspaper and with a loupe see if you cannot make out the type when the stone is laid down. real diamonds refract the light so are not clear, glass is totally clear.

I would deff try to tsell it. You could try to sell it off of craigslist, amazon, ebay etc. Usually if its used you should sell it for half of what it cost originally. If you wanna sell go for it. Also if no one buys it you can take the ring and sell it to those shops that take diamonds and they'll give you money for it. :) good luck.
