Is a t-shirt that says "WTF?" appropriate for polite company?
There isn't technically any swearing on the shirt or anything..
"The person who would wear such a garment is doing it for shock value and desperate for attention in any company."
You kidding me? Have you ever browsed t-shirts on the 'hipster' side of Chicago (or the 'hipster' stores in another city)? A t-shirt that simply says 'WTF?' is really tame compared to a lot other ones out there..

I think so. It could stand for anything, really. If challenged, pretend it means "World Taekwondo Federation", and claim to be a senior member. Then no-one will dare to suggest you meant WTF in the rude way!

I notice that you have used the phrase 'polite company' which clearly indicates that you already know the answer to your "question". The person who would wear such a garment is doing it for shock value and desperate for attention in any company.

Depends what you mean by polite company. I would like it but a lot of people might not think of you as behaving properly. If you want to seem as if you're not too bothered by formalities it would be perfect.

Probably not, since everyone knows what it stands for. I'd still wear it anyway. It would be a good way to break the ice, unless they're prudes.
