A great sweet wine or dessert wine?
We're beginning wine drinkers with little wine experience. We're looking for something sweet (but not too sweet!) to have alone or with dessert. We've tried a Riesling and weren't too fond of it. Any suggestions would be great!
We had a bottle of Moscato D'Asti. Super yum! :)

Besides the Tokaji that has been suggested, you can try:
Château d'Yquem & Sauternes from France.
Inniskillin (Ice Wine) from Canada
And on the less expensive side you can find great bargains on Pedro Ximenez Sherry from Spain or Muscat from Australia
Cheers!

The best I ever had was this german wine called Gewurtztraminer, from DeLoch Vinyard. OMG the best ever! Hard to find, tho u can buy it on line. A cheaper more easy to find option is japanese plum wine, you can get it at your local supermarket. So good, nice and sweet! Yum!

Voigner, from France is a good sweet white wine to have with dinner
Muscat, & Sauternes from France, and Tocaji, from Hungary, are good dessert wines

My advice, try and find a local farm that makes their own wines. Local stuff can be pretty amazing. Sherry is a desert wine but its VERY sweet, try it.
I have a local farm/winery that makes about 15 types of wines. Strawberry/Rhubarb, Blueberry, Apple, ect. they are amazing (higher than normal proof too) ;)
If you live nearby or are ever in the area check it out!
