Why did everyone cry when they saw the beatles in concert?
I understand they are absolutly amazing! But histerically crying because your seeing them is a little ridiculous.
I addmit i'd get teary eyed if I could back in time and see them play live. ahha I was spewing joy when I saw an imatation concert last summer.

at that time no one had every seen anything like that. For one, they were a group, not a singer with a back up band and not just a group of doo-wop vocalists. Bands practically didn't exist in the 1950's.
For another, they had a completely different look; hair down instead of back, suits, skinny ties, tall heeled boots, etc.
For another still they wrote most of their own songs; something virtually unheard of prior to that.
They were so different, so shocking, so unusual, and combined with being great musicians & songwriters, and being young men in tight trousers, most of their concert audience (largely young women) simply went crazy during their performances.
No one has ever quite duplicated that since and probably never will as most of what happens today are old ideas getting rehashed. The Beatles (along with George Martin and Brian Epstein) actually created something completely new and different, and that's rare.

It was all party of they hysteria and frenzy that surrounded the Beatles. Just seeing them live was more than some girls could handle--after all there is nothing more emotional than a room full of teenaged girls excited because they are seeing their favorite band.

They were a brilliant band with touching lyrics combined with great tunes. Haven't you ever listened to a song that made you quiver or get teary eyed..

I agree. But they really did change the world. When the Vietnam war was going on, they brought the peace era. Or the, "flower power" era. They brought happiness to people who had lost hope. Not to mention they were amazing. =)

That's what "fan" means -- it's short for "fanatic" and the Beatles had several million screaming fanatics.
