remember how polarizing Vick was as a PLAYER?

lost in this whole Vick signing is the old debate over his value. remember how he was either loved or hated as a QB? people thought he was incredible because of his athleticism, and others pointed to his stats & passer rating, and his record.

there is no guarantee that this signing is going to help Philly, and no no guarantee he's ready to play or will even be used. once everyone gets over it, PETA protests fall on deaf ears, and he begins to show he's a decent person (hopefully), we'll get back to the debate over his usefulness and success.

so finally, i'm asking this... what do you expect out of Vick:

a) this year

b) for the remainder of his career (eventual starting gig? in Philly or elsewhere?)

how could he be polarizing... he was too fast to take a Polaroid of him. it would always end up blurry, made it look like he had a tail and was dragging a leash behind him.

    a) when he plays, he'll be out of shape and dog tired in no time

    b) people might woof over his ability, but he stinks like a wet puppy and will end his career this year... leave the league with his tail between his legs

    A) Little impact, since he apparently only signed what is really a 1 year contract with a club option for a 2nd year, and in that 2nd year they would have to pay him $5 Million.

    B) No, I don't see him getting another starting job in the NFL. The NFL has become a passing league, he struggled to pass 2 years ago, so I don't see him improving after not playing for 2 years.

Yeah I never thought he was very good.

This year: He might be OK. Take some snaps in the Wildcat or other tricky formations, maybe he'll do OK

Long term: He never was a good QB. Why would he start now? Out of the league in 3 years.

1)Vick will play some significance. McNabb doesn't play every down and they already run a little wildcat.

2)He will start again. There are so many horrible players in this league starting at QB that Vick will get his chance to start for a club again.

    a) nothing; he's at his proper level now, #3

    b) he'll never be a starter again; the only reason he's ever was a starter was because Arthur Blank had some kind of unhealthy fascination with him
