it's on the verge of happening, and i don't want to get ahead of myself, but i have no idea how to appropriately celebrate it. this is uncharted territory... i'm 32 and this would be the first of my lifetime. getting hammered or streaking out of the question. pumping my fist, jumping up and down at home and screaming (possibly crying) doesn't quite capture it either. any ideas?

i know their strengths and weaknesses. i own one, and the other is a free agent. too early to give up on players, but i have a chance to drop one for the other. dropping somebody else to own both is NOT an option. which one?

lost in this whole Vick signing is the old debate over his value. remember how he was either loved or hated as a QB? people thought he was incredible because of his athleticism, and others pointed to his stats & passer rating, and his record.

there is no guarantee that this signing is going to help Philly, and no no guarantee he's ready to play or will even be used. once everyone gets over it, PETA protests fall on deaf ears, and he begins to show he's a decent person (hopefully), we'll get back to the debate over his usefulness and success.

so finally, i'm asking this... what do you expect out of Vick:

a) this year

b) for the remainder of his career (eventual starting gig? in Philly or elsewhere?)

tonight's first contestant, not sure what her name is.... i've said since the first time i saw her on the audition that she looks like a 50/50 mix between Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson, which is an ironic mix because they're together or married, not sure. can anyone else second my observation? my wife has no idea what i'm talking about.

when it comes to hockey, i just don't get it. i am not a fan. i have a hard time seeing the "beauty" of a hockey goal when ESPN shows top plays, and what looks to me to be a standard, normal, no-frills goal is compared to a great basketball pass-and-dunk, or a diving baseball catch. when i'm watching with friends, we mock the goals the same way we mock a WNBA layup with fake oohs and aahs. i didn't come here to insult you or your sport, just wondering if it really does compare as a top play with the great plays of another sport (basketball, football, baseball). i don't see it, but i don't have an appreciation for the sport (although i totally appreciate the athleticism and agility of hockey players). just looking for something insightful. thanks.

it's actually Tecmo Super Bowl. released in 1991 on Nintendo (8-bit), keeps season stats, just have to be calculated after each week of games are auto-played by computer.
