How do you put a bill to a popular vote?
The whole health care thing has really frustrated me, my question is sorta two things at once.
1. Is it possible to put this bill to a popular vote (pure democratic vote with no electoral college just pure Americans' votes) rather than allowing our representatives, who have so far proved to be very good at ignoring us, decide on it?
2. How?
I'm not asking for your stance on this subject just wondering if we can make it so everyone's voice is heard, not just the politicians'
We have a right to petition for our grievances. would this sort of thing work by any chance?
If you wanna change the way things are going you gotta start somewhere. Things won't change until someone does something to change it thanks for the info

Okay.
One more time.
It is not possible.
The United States Constitution does not permit a national referendum on ANY subject.
In order to do what you want, you would have to convince a member of Congress to introduce a Constitutional Amendment, then convince 2/3 of Congress, the president, and 38 of the state legislatures to approve the amendment.
THEN you would have to get your particular referendum on the ballot according to the procedures which would be defined in the amendment.
That would take $millions$ and about 10 years of serious community organizing.
Have at it.

You don't. America is a Constitutional Republic. When a person is elected to a public office, the people that elected him have put their faith in him to represent them and not themselves. That is why great thought and care should be put into your choice.
Obama was elected by a majority of voters that he conned into voting for him by telling them what they wanted to hear and by spouting slogans and empty promises.
Very recently an attorney told me that congressional bills were not written to be understood by the average “Joe”, but were written to be understood by attorneys and judges. What does that tell you about who wants to call the shots for you?

No. The United States Federal Govt is a "representative" government. We don't vote on the Federal Laws. We vote on who we want to elect that we think will follow our interests and THEY vote on it.
