Jamie Soward what happened?

The question has been asked if Soward should play for Australia, well tonights game against Canberra gave us the answer - No Way. When the tough got going tonight he went missing. Catch and pass all night, no creativity, no leadership, no good under pressure. Thoughts..............

    I must agree with you.

When Jamie is put under pressure, he cracks most of the time. A good example is when the Cowboys were beating the Dragons in Townsville. Jamie Soward got put under constant pressure by the Cowboys defenders, got rushed up on, and he had barely any baring on the game whatsoever.

Tonight, he was especially tentative. He was never running the ball, he is only willing to do it when his team is comfortable or in front. He needs to learn not to change his game. Terry Campese handled the pressure very, very well, and Canberra fans would be just as gutted and happy after winning tonight, asking themselves, where the hell has this form been all year?

He also made poor defensive reads tonight. Jarrod Croker ran all over him tonight, Jamie made 8 tackles, and missed 5, and that is unacceptable. Neville Costigan did not give him adequate support, so that could be his only excuse. Even Johnathan "speedbump" Thurston makes 18 tackles a game and only misses 4.

I'm a Dragons supporter through and through and a huge fan of Soward......but no, he is not the man to play five eigth for Australia........yet. He has to be taught how to tackle low. He is a liability for the Dragons and that was exploited very successfully by the Raiders last night. One thought though. You say when the going got tough he went missing. I think he is down a bit on confidence at the moment, even his goalkicking is a bit suspect atm.......but does he have to play brilliant every week?

Any halfback/playmaker will tell you if their pack doesn't have the go forward it will make it hard for them.

As the commentators said after last weeks game V Panthers. It was a tough game very physical and a big test and he did rise to the occasion. No, he's not ready yet, but he will be in a season or two. Good time for a loss for the Dragons and a good wake up call.

His performance made Brett Kimorley look like a dead set starter for Australia, Soward is maybe 3 years too inexperienced for origin let alone Australia. However I am undecided who is a worse defender Soward or Lockyer - both are walking liabilities on the field in Defense

    Haha this is typical.

Dragons win - people think the comp is rigged and Soward is lucky.

Dragons lose - people put the boots into Soward because apparently he's the only bloke on the field.

Dragons got outplayed all over the park and Canberra were the better team. End of story. It's ONE game.

At least this will make the Bulldogs supporters happy. They can imagine being on top of the ladder with their imaginery points now.

he has played well in recent weeks, but there has always been an unanswered question of how he would perform when 'targetted' by hard hitting forwards, like happened to kimmorley with Webb in last nights game. I don't think Soward is yet ready to take on the hard running/hitting game experienced in full representative footy, however he is still an exciting player to watch when given half a chance, but for my money he still lacks that little bit of experience which can make half a chance out of nothing. He will get it in time, but not just yet.

Hahaha spectacular! Getting returned to the question. i think of Sticky could bypass with Gidley, except he's likewise injured. If the two Gidley and Soward are injured then i'm not likely optimistic, because of the fact Mullen and Campese are additionally injured. He could ought to bypass with Carney because of the fact of his partnership with Pearce and the expertise he's shown interior the previous (yet not this 12 months). yet another selection could be Wallace. yet actual it particularly is a final case situation. i won't be ready to work out Hayne getting picked. Sticky merely says stuff like that to the media to circumvent scrutiny and greater thinking. He could circumvent greater thinking, even though it does make him look like particularly a hypocrite whilst he is going against what he initially reported.

The dragons couldn't cope with the pressure or the HARD stuff tonight they lost their cool and that's what lost them the game. They just wanted to fight and not play football.

With everyone saying the Dragons need to drop a game to win the grand final, i think it has gotten into their mindset. They had to lose one sooner or later, and i'd rather sooner than later.

Over rated marshmallow, biter & kicker, nothing has changed all season. Dead set right choice the selectors leaving him out of State of Origin - only loony Saints supporters would suggest otherwise. Now maybe they'll shut up & give everyone a break.
