Voldemort true master of elder wand!?

In order to truly own the Elder wand, a wizard would have to take the wand of the current master against their wishes. Albus Dumbledore was the true master of the Elder wand. Draco Malfoy became the next true owner when he disarmed Albus Dumbledore right before his death. However, the Elder wand was buried with Dumbledore. Draco never knew he was the new master. Later, Harry took Draco's Hawthorn wand while he was escaping Malfoy Manor. Since Malfoy was the current master of the Elder wand, this passed the Elder wand's ownership on to Harry. In the meantime, Voldemort broke into Dumbledore's tomb and stole the Elder wand.

Voldemort thought that Snape was the new master, as he had killed Dumbledore, not realizing that Draco had disarmed Dumbledore. Voldemort killed Snape and believed himself to be the new Elder wand master.

When it came down to the final duel in the Great Hall, Voldemort used the Elder wand that Harry was now master of. Voldemort cast an Avada Kedavra curse at Harry. Harry cast an Expelliarmus spell. Since Harry was the master of the wand Voldemort was using, Voldemort's Avada Kedavra rebounded off of the Expelliarmus and killed him.

Though he might have stolen it, the wand is still useable. Grindelwald could still cast spells, cause harm, and raise havoc with it. It doesn't matter who was the Master of it during that time, Dumbledore still won it fair and sqaure in a proper duel. The wand will switch alliegence if properly won.

Therefore, Dumbledore was Master, then Draco, then Harry. It was never Snape or Voldemort.

JKR explains a little more about it:

"The Elder Wand is simply the most dispassionate and ruthless of wands in that it will only take into consideration strength. So one would expect a certain amount of loyalty from one's wand. So even if you were disarmed while carrying it, even if you lost a fight while carrying it, it has developed an affinity with you that it will not give up easily. If, however, a wand is won, properly won in an adult duel, then a wand may switch allegiance... However, the Elder Wand knows no loyalty except to strength. So it's completely unsentimental. It will only go where the power is. So if you win, then you've won the wand. So you don't need to kill with it. But...almost inevitably, it attracts wizards who are prepared to kill and who will kill. And also it attracts wizards like Voldemort who confuse being prepared to murder with strength."

Grindewald removed the wand against the wishes of Gregorovitch. Voldemort could take the wand from Dumbledore's grave because Dumbledore wasnt the master of the elder wand at that time; Malfoy was, and as he didnt know about the wand, he didnt give a hoot whether Voldemort took it or not.

the wand was not used by gregorovitch as his own.he just had it in his store in a hidden place. so it gave its power to grindelwald. dumbledore defeated him so became master of wand. he was disarmed by malfoy who next became the master. then harry. voldemort was not the master

you don't have to kill to become the true master of the elder wand. if you steal it or disarm it then the wand changes allegiance to that person. thats what ollivander said about wandlore.
