Vince McMahon has had the most impact on pro wrestling.

Him alone wanting to try to monopolize the wrestling industry changed the way the whole wrestling industry is to the way it is today. Before he took over the WWF/E, there were so many companies around the country that had good to great wrestling. They were in territories, or basically ran shows in certain sections of the country. You had so much wrestling to choose from to watch.

Younger wrestlers had plenty of places to work and learn before making it to a big company...so by the time they got to the big company they were already pretty much polished and ready to hit it in the big time.

You also had wrestlers that could have more jobs because there were so many places to wrestle.

Today besides WWE and TNA, and on a smaller scale ROH, you don't have much more of an option of what to watch unless you do some research and look for some wrestling companies that are pretty small.

If it wasn't for Vince, companies like Mid-Atlantic, or WCW for that matter, AWA, Mid-South and quite a few others might've been around longer...or better yet some of those might still be around today. We would have so much more wrestling to choose from to watch, instead we're stuck here basically hoping WWE becomes closer to what our specific taste of wrestling might be. It's either that or watch TNA or ROH. If there were more companies like there used to be, everybody would have a company in wrestling they like for their specific taste..and there would be less debating about what is good or not, instead we'd be talking about which wrestling companies we think have the best wrestling.

The biggest impact in pro wrestling history was the Attitude Era because it help popularize wrestling and help to rise superstars like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, HHH, HBK, Chris Jericho, and Edge.

I know this is a ridiculous and vague answer, but I have to say the fans had the biggest impact on Pro Wrestling.

Without us (the fans), most wrestlers and Pro Wrestling wouldn't be as big as it is. We're the ones who buy the merchandise, pay per views and etc. Wrestlers rely on us giving them reaction, if successful they get a push and if not then they go down hill. When WWE (for example) gave us Austin, we liked it and cheered for him, therefore staying on top. I know it's a vague answer, but I believe we had the most impact.

Impact on wrestling: HBK has made the most impact of anyone in the history of wrestling in my opinion. He, as I mentioned earlier, was the original high flyer. Can you imagine what wrestling would be like without highflyers? No Rey Mysteiro, Evan Bourne, Christian, Rob Van Dam, Daniels, AJ Styles etc. I mean, without highflying wrestling would be immensly different and would not be as popular today.

Also, HBK has made a huge impact on stipulations. He was in the first ladder, Elimination Chamber, Hell In a Cell and the iron man. It was HIS idea to put the roof on the cell, can you imagine what WWE would be without HIAC, I can't.

Gorgeous George, everything that pro wrestling is today has roots back to him. Entrance music, over the top character, working the crowd... all link back to Gorgeous George.
