Do you consider a Jeep a truck or a car?

Personally I only refer to a vehicle as a Truck if it has an open bed (whether the bed is covered or topped does not matter). If the vehicle is fully enclosed with at least 4 doors and a "trunk space" that is still part of the cabin (not closed off from the rest of the vehicle) then I call it an SUV. If the vehicle has at least 4 doors with 3 or more rows of passenger seating, then the vehicle will henceforth be known as a Van. If the vehicle has 2-4 doors but the trunk area is separated from the rest of the cabin (only accessible by folding down the back seats or opening it from the outside) then I call it a Car. If the vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler then I will only call it a Jeep and I will promptly correct anyone who says otherwise! A Wrangler is a Wrangler in it's own classification. So.. Long story short, I would call your vehicle an SUV.

I have noticed many people on the west coast would call a dog turd a car if it has wheels. The rest of the country makes finer distinctions. I would personally call a Grand Cherokee a SUV. I make that comparison to a Jeep Wrangler that is a descendant of the first mass produced Willys Jeep that the US Army classified as a 1/4 ton truck.

I have always wondered that myself. I have a 1975 Jeep Wagoneer with only 84000 miles on it. I have always thought of it as a station wagon but the county calls it a truck and issues me truck licenses for it. It might be listed as car or truck per the weight. Which leaves us to wonder what category the SUV vehicles fall into. I have a Ford Explorer also and it was licensed as a car. So who knows, obviously the county or state doesn't know.

Jeeps are in a class of their own! They go by Jeeps.

But technically they would be considered SUVs =P

cherokee is an SUV, simple as that, some people like calling SUVs trucks to, SUVs are more trucks than cars since you can tow as much with them as you can trucks

Technically it's an SUV, but if you want to be cool you can call SUV's with truck-based suspensions trucks.

It is a Jeep, its neither a car or a truck, it was first made for the military, now it has been made for the public. its in a class of its own. ok I hope this helps.
