get my personal stuff back from ex?
im 20 yrs old. I broke up w/ my ex of 3 years about a month ago. Hes living w/ his parents who hate me. I am an hour away at my bro's.
I had pics, book, videos, work stuff on his comp he had to take w/ him and promised to put on DVDs for me. I knew their was risk but trusted him to get it done as I didnt' know how. He has yet to return the stuff to me. I would say heck with it and let it all go, but their are videos and pics of family I barely get to see, as well as animals I once had that I unfortunately lost. these are very important to me. I can't take him to court cause I dont' have the money for that. Is there anything I can say or do that will make him give me my stuff back? and why is he doing this? no ignorant answers please

Take him to small claims court. Rarely over $50.00, usually a lot less.

i woudln't take him to court because once he gets the court papers he could easily delete everything and wouldn't be penalized for it. it is his computer. so i would just ask nicely and find out a date and time you can pick it up. before you go call and make sure it's ready and if not again nicely ask him to do this for you. don't get upset and start yelling and crying because that makes him feel he has a hold over you and he will continue to use the situation to manipulate you. after a while if asking nicely doesn't work there isn't much you can do but you just broke up after a long time and he is probably still hurt just give it a minute.

Sorry, but if he won't return your belongings willingly, you have no choice except to take him to small claims court. You don't need a lawyer for small claims court and the fee is small enough for you to afford. Otherwise, you'll have to forget about your things. A last effort would be to call his mom and ask her if she'd help you get your things. If she hates you, she should be more than glad to get your stuff out of her house. If that doesn't work, go to court.

Number one, you left stuff on HIS computer, therefore whatever is on that computer is by LAW now HIS. He doesn't have to make dvds for you he dosn't have to give them to you. If you didn't want him to have them you should not have left them on HIS computer. You can't take him to court because you don't have a case. The reason he is doing this is because he doesn't HAVE to give you anything that is on his computer to you.

okay he's doing it cuz he's hurt first of all and second threaten' him with court if it doesn't go through then do what you have to do that work that he has is as important as your implying it is then it will be Worth it and will help pay some court off...
