Godricks death scene on True Blood- amazing?

I had to watch it a second time- what an amazing scene. "After 2000 years I can still be surprised... a human cries for me....". Great tv. I think Godrick's character was too powerful to keep (sadly). He would easily take focus from Eric, Sookie & Bill... your thoughts???

Update:

And I LOVE how Lafayette told Marianne what she IS and took Tara!! Cool!!! Luv him!!

I was so sad to see him go but I know there is no way they could have kept him. I'm going to watch the episode again too when I have the hour to sit and actually watch it. Last night there was so much going on in the episode I need to watch it again to make sure I caught everything. Plus when Godric died I was crying so I wasn't really watching the t.v., lol. I wish they could have kept him a little longer or gave him a little more screen time, Allan is an amazing actor and he played Godric perfectly from the beginning. When he said the part in your question I was crying and when Eric was on his knees begging him not to do it I was crying and it really started when Godric said father, brother, child. It was one of the best episodes by far. The only other episode I remember crying on is when Sookie was eating grans pie.

Lafayette was back this week and it was good to see. I was laughing when he had Eggs on the floor and was kicking him, who did Eggs think he was messing with, lol.

It was an emotional episode overall, more so than usual. (I think they had a deal going with Kleenex last night, lol.) It seemed pretty clear from the start that Godric was suicidal. We went from the amazing scene with Godric and Sookie, Eric's grief was a whole new side of him we had not seen, and of course Mary Ann is blowing the lid off common sense back in Bon Temps. It's emo-gone-wild!

I'm anxious to see the smackdown ahead getting Tara away from those crazies, and was really glad to see her Mother with Lafayette. Can't wait to see some action , though, and I'm eager to see who takes Mary Ann down!

Great scene but as http://io9.com/ pointed out the graphics were unfortunately very similar to the Quantum Leap graphics when Sam leaps. Loved the rest of the scene and the episode, shame there's no more cowboy vampires with stan gone.
