computer help active x ?

got a new acer 5535 lap top. all is good but when i try to play some mpeg or avi,it dont work.im sure its just simple active x or some thing like that,but i dont know how to fix it. any suggestions?

    do u have your flash player enable if its disable i think your active x wont work i hope that helps
