R&Sers, what do you think of this?

it's not "proof", it's "evidence" there is a big difference

Update:

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/technology/5834080/bu...

I think it might put a hole or two in the whole "creation" thing just quietly...

Update 2:

hmm ignorance and creationism seem to go hand in hand...

Update 3:

oh, and to the creationists, feel free to provide some semi-reliable even somewhere near probable evidence that "goddidit"

    Cretinists don't just embrace ignorance.

They lower the lights, play some Barry White, and try to unclip its bra.

I agree that it is a significant discovery.

    Just remember the old rhyme:

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. You can lead a fundamentalist to ideas but you can't make him think.

They'll read the article (or not) and say, "So what?" because of their failure to understand or their desire to ignore such news.

Leaving us even more certain that the Creation myth is exactly that - a myth. And leaving them exactly where they started, going nowhere fast because they don't want to allow in even the slightest thought that might cause their faith to waver.

It doesn't matter if you build a time machine and literally show them the process of life evolving on the planet, they'll still ignore the truth.

I'm not following you...how does this "put a hole or two in the whole creation thing"?

Scientists have known for some time now that organic compounds are abundant in space, and this just adds to the list.

    Are you kidding me...glycine?

One supposed building block which has never been replicated.

The odds of merely one protein being formed by evolutionary chance is statistically impossible. it is more than 1 in the number of electrons in the universe.

This is like trying to find 'water' on Mars and saying it proves life could have evolved.

Hope you enjoyed your monumental leaps of logic.
