Problems installing Sony Handy Cam DCR-DVD608 to new Macbook Pro?
Today I brought a new Macbook pro, and want to import some files from my video camera to imovie. To begin with Macbook wont recognise my motion browser disk, even though on the back it states its Mac compatible. I have also tried just plugging in my camera, opening imovie and trying to import - but this didnt work also.
I am hoping someone has a simple (in easy to understand language) way to fix this!
THANK YOU!

Your MacBook Pro has a slot loading DVD drive. Most Macs have a slot loading DVD drive. Never put a small (8cm) or odd sized disc in a slot loader. You need to use an external drawer loader. I like those from LaCie.
You will also need to get a DVD ripper. I like HandBrake
Finalize the disc, take it out of the camcorder, put it in the drawer loading drive connected to the MacBook Pro, launch HandBrake, rip the video to a format you want for watching or editing...
