Not to dispute the answer before - but it does harm a fetus if you take birth control pills while pregnant - as indicated on any medication - DO NOT TAKE WHILE PREGNANT. If you continue to have symptoms through the next couple of days - I would speak to the MD before starting the pack - it won't hurt you to have a later than normal period on the pills if you are not pregnant. The risk outways the benefits

I would definitely hold off on starting a new pack. If you're still testing negative make an appointment to see your doctor for a blood test ASAP. In some women pregnancy is not detected by an HPT until they are very far along. Blood tests are much more sensitive.
Birth control pills can be damaging to a developing fetus.
If you are not pregnant, waiting to start a new pack will mess with your cycle, but better safe than sorry, right?
Good luck!
