Japanese birthday party customs?

My American daughter has been invited to a Japanese girl's 11th birthday party on Sunday in Tokyo. Not having ever been to such an event we don't know the proper etiquette. Should she bring a birthday present like she would in the states? If so, approximately how much should the present be worth and what are good presents to give in such a situation? Is there anything else she should know or be prepared for?

Japanese birthday party is not so different from American parties. So you don't have to worry about it too much as another says.

    >Should she bring a birthday present like she would in the states?

    Sure! It's birthday party.

    >If so, approximately how much should the present be worth

It depends on how close they are. But it's 1000-5000 yen for someone at 11. You don't have to buy something 5000 yen unless they are really close.

    >and what are good presents to give in such a situation?

Just like present for any 11 year old girls in US.

They're pretty much the same as American Birthday parties...depending on the parents of course.

She should bring a present, just like in the states. Let your daughter pick the present, since she would know what her friend likes and such.

Don't worry too much, and just have fun.

thoroughly made up. the different considerable birthday in Japan is the 20 th, the place you're seen now to absolutely be an person (ingesting age is 20 in Japan) and each city holds a huge annual coming-of-age occasion the place women gown in very high-quality, very costly kimonos and boys in severe high quality suits and a ceremony style of like your commencement ceremony occurs.
