Not sure how far along you are ... but my daughter was active throughout the whole pregnancy and my son (who's being induced in a few hours, by the way!) :) became more and more active as the pregnancy progressed.
Although I've stayed away from caffeine for the most part, every once in a while, if I indulge myself in a Coke (or better yet ... chocolate!), the kiddo definitely gets a-goin'! My OB has said that this means nothing but GOOD things ... he likes to stretch, get comfortable, explore the best he can with his arms / legs ... and that's all fine with me!
(Side note: my OB DID tell me a horror story about a girl that drank a case of Mountain Dew every few days. She said the baby's heart rate was through the roof, & he was born VERY skinny from moving constantly. Now that was an extreme case, of course -- but worth mentioning, in case you're a Mountain Dew fan). :)
Best of luck! It's always a wonder to me when they move in there ... and I remember being kinda sad after my daughter was born and I couldn't feel her in there anymore, hiccups and all -- she belonged to the world now, not just to me. ;) Enjoy while you can!

I'd just say you've been blessed with an active baby. Once they begin to move consistently, their patterns allow us to know that everything is going normal and there is no reason to be concerned. However, if this just recently developed, you might want to pay close attention to any specifics that you may be doing that increase his kicking.
My little guy just started his kicks real frequently now in the past few days (at 17 weeks, this is to be expected), and mostly if seems to occur for no particular reason at all. But, sometimes I noticed I can get him going if I consume anything with a high concentration of sugar...maybe this could be to blame with you as well?
Otherwise, again, your baby could just be very active, loves to move around and stretch, could be in a bad position and tries to re-adjust himself, or other less obvious reasons.
If you feel concerned, talk to your OB to confirm. They can always do an ultrasound, fetal heart and movement monitoring, or even a fetal stress test. Either way, they will be able to diagnose what is going on...
But most likely scenario, your son-to-be just loves kicking his mommy and isn't going to stop anytime soon :)
Enjoy the feeling.
Congratulations, and Good Luck :)

How far along are you?...
Movement is a good sign, and will slow when he/she starts to run out of room... Although then when they kick and or punch it tends to hurt!.. LOL! Sounds like you just have a very active baby!
Another thing to check is your caffeine intake. Are you drinking things with caffeine?... or eating a lot of chocolate? That could be helping your little one with his energy.

Hm like frantic sudden movements? Could be distress, but just kicking is a good thing sounds active. Just call Labor & delievery they will tell you if they think you should come in, if they don't just talk to your doctor at your next appointment.

I am 34 weeks and I am getting really sick of getting kicked in my side. It hurts so much. I hate bumpy car rides -- he will kick every time we go over a bump. Tho, of course my boyfriend thinks its hillarious so he will purposely go over the bumps and of course speeds up so they are even more painful.

Ahhh.. I have a little Active boy on my hands unlike his 2 sisters in there.
It just means you have an active, healthy little baby!
Congrats!

Maybe, the way/position you're moving is uncomfortable for the baby. Or maybe just reflexes?

Would you rather he not move at all? :-( That's worse.
Just be happy, it sounds like you've got a live(ly) one in there. Sounds like he's going to be a handful when he comes out! Congratulations!

you probably just have a very active baby. Its a good sign, unless he/she is moving frantically then call your doctor right away.
