need help with physics question!?

2 cars traveling along same route with same speed. How much do I need to reduce speed of 1st car for the second to overtake it, and how long would it take? Any help would be appreciated! :)

    If they are traveling side by side, any reduction in speed will instantly be overtaken by the other car, if they are not then who knows? Maybe you could set up a general case with speed x, distance apart d, reduction in speed delta x and make up a formula [this is assuming that they are traveling parallel in the same direction :-)]
