Is there a quick fix for a 98 Volvo V70 heater core instead of a full-on replacement?

I've got a 98 volvo v70 that is emitting white smoke/mist from the heater and A/C vents...So, I need to replace the heater core. Money is tight, so I'm not looking to drop a ton of money in parts/labor, so i was wondering if anyone knew of a quick fix (like StopLeak or something) that would solve the problem...at least until i can afford to have the thing fixed permanently.

The only leak stop chemical I would use is BarsLeaks. It's very effective, so much so in fact that it may clog the core but the leak will be fixed. I've been using this stuff for years and always been satisfied.

98 V70 heater core job only runs a few hundred. Book time is only a couple of hours and is one of the easier heater cores to do. Get an estimate from a local independent Volvo tech. You may be surprised how inexpensive it is.

you may desire to make specific the water is going for the time of the heater center.Take one part unfastened, not on a similar time as that's too warm of direction, and if that's not the part that the antifreeze comes out of, take the different part off.The radiator cap being wiped out could reason you hardship too.The spring receives vulnerable and would not enable rigidity build as much as the splendid volume.in any different case make specific each and every of the air is out of the equipment and that that's finished.you may take out the thermostat which will help enable the fluid flow quicker, then placed it back in once you recognize each and every of the air is out.you additionally can examine the thermostat on a similar time as that's out with the help of putting it in a pan with slightly water and seeing if it opens once you convey the water to a boil.i've got offered new ones that ought to stick open and a few that doesn't open in any respect.
