What are some witty novels, full of adventure and spontaneity?

I'm drawn to more "on the edge" topics. Drugs, recklessness, runaways, rock 'n' roll, and etc..

I haven't found too many books I've liked. Maybe I'm just picky but if you have any recommendations.. It'd be appreciated!

I would agree with Kerouac "On the Road." Also check out Tom Wolf "Electric Cool Aid Acid Test." Go Ask Alice is interesting. I have the book and the movie, which have slight differences.

Now I have two questions for you.

    Do you like older men?

Can we discuss this over coffee at a coffeehouse?

"On the Road" by Jack Kerouac. Look up any of the Beat writers. They would fulfill your desire for drugs, recklessness, runaways, adventure and spontaneity but not really wit or rock 'n' roll (they were more into jazz). Check out Hunter S. Thompson for all of that and a bit of wit. Evelyn Waugh and Nancy Mitford have alot of wit, absurdity, recklessness and adventure but they were pre-rock. Look them up, they may strike your fancy.
