What straightener should I buy?

Also, is it Conair who makes the straightner that doubles as a curler?

If you're willing to shell out the cash (like $200), you could try the GHD. There are loyal followings for both the CHI an GHD and, honestly, they're both excellent irons. In my opinion, the GHD is a bit more sophisticated because it has added features, such as it will automatically shut off after 30 minutes of inactivity (so you don't burn down your house). It also has dual voltage, so you can use it pretty much anywhere in the world without having it get fried.

But if price is an issue, I'd go for the CHI. You can find it for less than $100 and it works wonders too. Both are really great irons that don't snag or burn the hair.

You can curl your hair with either of those straightening irons with the proper technique, but Conair does make the straightener/curling iron tool.

Personally, I'd rather shell out a bit more for a better straightener, since the last two Conair irons I bought were pretty ineffective. But if you do decide to go for the CHI or GHD, whatever you do, do NOT buy it on ebay. You'll probably just end up receiving a dangerous counterfeit.

for the straightener that doubles as a curler i'm not sure what brand it is, but it doesn't look like it'd straighten hair very well.

the straightener i use is the Remington Wet2Straight.

it works pretty good for me. it's around 30-35 dollars, cheap compared to the CHI that everyone loves.

i bought it for my friend for her birthday, she has thick curly hair and she said it works great! so i'd say it's worth it, and give it a try. but when you straighten it wet it gets really damaged, so i don't do that. and it makes my hair hard to brush.

You should buy the Chi Hair Straightener. Its really great. It made my hair so shiny. The $70 model is really, really, really great. It also made my hair so flat. My hair was almost an afro before then I used the Chi and it was amazing. (I have theinstyler and it take such a long time to make my hair straight... Its not amazing... And you have to pay $30 montly)

A CHI straightener is best! I have had one for almost a year now, and it is AMAZING! It keeps your hair straight all day (if you dont get it wet). If you are going to get a straightener, CHI is the best choice.

The only downfall is they are about 130 dollars....so they are pretty pricey but they are worth it!!!
