I got a MacBook a few months ago (swapped over from PC) and am not looking back. They are superior machines & run amazingly well. I highly recommend them. So far I have not encountered anything on the Mac that I could not do. But on the PC, there are lots of things I can't do or take wayyyy too long. I know what everyone else is saying and I admit I'm not a big gamer, so I can't personally comment on that. I don't think that's any reason to buy a computer with piece-of-crap Vista though. You absolutely WILL regret that. Leopard rocks.

I hate HP and so does my boyfriend, the IT Administrator. Maybe you'll have better luck though. Toshiba is good, I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and it was good until it hit around the 1 year old mark but I need some extra memory added to it. I don't know what model it is but he just had to put a completely new hard drive in his HP and it's not even a year old.

Honestly I have an HP DV5 and I like it but sometimes it freezes for no apparent reason. The laptop is only like 1 year old. I would recommend just getting a MAC.

i v had my HP laptop for a year this august and i think its the best. i havent had ANY problems with it. no virues or nothing. i think you should go for it.
