is there a way to override the screen lock on the ipod classic?

without putting in the four digit code?

    Plug it into iTunes.

    I think it unlocks it automatically.

    If not, you're going to have to restore it.

    nope, if you plug it into itunes, it asks for the 4 digit code to unlock it before it can start syncing. You have to put it in dfu mode then restore. you just can't restore, it must be DFU.

    plug in your ipod touch via the usb 2.0 port cable via the computer.

    hold down the sleep/wake and the home button for 12 seconds or until the apple logo comes(keep holding it even though the red slider at the top of the screen comes and says to fully shut down). Once the apple logo appears, let go of the sleep/wake but still hold the home button until you have to connect to itunes. then on itunes it should say ipod is in recovery mode and must restore. restore then put all your stuff back on or backup
