whats the best printer for cheap ink?

Im looking to buy a printer i have a budget of around £50.

I will be printing lots of photos and documents therefore i need a printer with fairly cheap cartridges.

It doesn't have to be excellent quality im more concerned with the price of ink cartridges than print quality to be honest.

i look forward to your replies thank you.

Which ink is cheap is like asking what flame throwing wont set you on fire.

They are all much of a muchness but they say Kodak's ink is about the cheapest.

You can't beat a Kodak Easyshare printer for quality and cheapness of inks. They are a bit dearer than £50 but the inks are the cheapest on the market, £15-70 approx for a black and color combi pack. I know that a lot of people say buy a cheaper printer and use compatible inks, but this can be dangerous as those inks can burn out your printer heads and they don't always tell you when the cartridges are empty as they always seem to show full when using the printer. I know this to my cost as I have used these inks in a Lexmark and an Epson and they have buggered up the Printer. It is best to go for quality over cheapness. The back up service by Kodak is second to none as well. I had a faulty printer head on the printer I bought, I phoned them and they had a new one at my door the next day along with a combi pack of inks as an apology.

I have just bought a HP photosmart C4580 wireless printer a week ago to replace a similar lexmark printer that stuffed up after three weeks when I decided to save 20 pounds and get my cartridges filled at smart cartridge. This proved a big mistake as it cost 55 pounds at Tesco for a new printer.

Having had HP printers before I am not a lover because I thought the software took over my laptop and slowed it down, but this printer is really good. You can also buy ink cartridges (351 xl and 350 xl) which will print 5 times as much as an ordinary cartridge but are less than twice the price of the standard cartridge. The quality of the printing is excellent, I don't print many photos but I did try a few and the colour quality was first class.

Tesco also do a non wireless version which I think is 40 pounds. I grudge the cost of ink but with the hp xl cartridges its not bad value, and Tesco do their own brand of cartridge a couple of pounds cheaper to fit the hp printer.

Be watch-full of buying from Curry's, Dixon's or pc world as that's where i bought my lexmark from then realised that particular model number was exclusive to them and the gun was held to my head with the cost of the ink cartridges !!!
