Have the Cincinnati Reds reached a new low?
Just lost 12-2 to the Pirates and now are in last place in the NL Central. What's happened to the Reds since the All-Star break?

They will never pass the low they reached when the signed Dusty Baker to manage a team full of budding young stars. He's the reason they're in last place now.

The Cincinnati Reds have been (how can I say this tastefully) brutal since the All-Star break. They have won 9 games and lost 26 games in that time. Like you said, they are now in the cellar in the NL Central division. Only Joey Votto has shown up to play this year, hitting .308 with 18 homes runs and 60 runs batted in. The only other mentionable hitters are Johnny Gomes (.270ba, 15hr) and Brandon Phillips (.260ba, 17hr, 75rbi). Their team batting average is last in MLB at .239 this year.
Their pitching staff has been mediocre this season with a team era of 4.39 which ranks then 19th in MLB. Francisco Cordero has been good with a 2.25 era and 25 saves. Their best starters has been Bronson Arroyo who is 11-12 with a 4.56era and 90k's. It's been a rough last half of a season for them and hopefully next year they will do better.

The cynic in me says the usual July swoon every Reds team I have ever seen has went through (born in 1970).
Pitching erratic but absolutely no offense. When a pitcher like Harang or Arroyo knows they have to pitch a shutout to win a game, it makes them think too much and not just pitch.
New low? No I remember the early 80s when the Reds couldn't beat their A ball team in Tampa. Getting there? Maybe.

No they haven't. They have been far worse in the past, including losing 101 games in 1982. They won't lose that many this season.
As to this year, they aren't a very good team to begin with, Harang and Arroyo have been sorry, injuries have hit them, etc etc. Mediocre teams with injuries lose a lot of games.

plain and simple they need starting pitching, cueto has gone down the drain and don't expect harrang who leads the team with a 4.12 ERA and arroyo to hold up any rotation they just aren't having good years and nobody can win games when Brandon Philips is leading your team in batting average .260, really?

Pete Rose must be on his knees begging Selig to let him manage again, so he can pay off some gambling debts.
