Overdue and just moved an hour away from hospital!?
Hello mommies!
First let me just say, I'm very frustrated. I'm about 4 days overdue and still no signs of my little princess yet. I get a few contractions here and there and slight pain in the pelvic area but other than that I haven't felt anything that's alarming. Baby is still very active. Have any of you experienced this at all and ended up going into labor or had to be induced? I have only dilated 2cm and 50% effaced for the past 2 weeks. I've also just moved an hour away from the hospital I plan to deliver her and worried I'm might go in to labor and not make in time Please share some experiences and advice on how to handle this. Thank you!

I'm assuming this is your first baby. Most of the time, first babies take a long time to get here once labor starts. But, there's always that exception to the rule who doesn't really start hurting or realize anything's going on until she's just about ready to pop the baby out. If you head to the hospital as soon as you start hurting, chances are you'll make it with plenty of time to spare. But, if you have to wait around on someone to come home to drive you to the hospital, pack your hospital bag, arrange for someone to pick up kids from school or feed the dog, etc, you may push your luck a little bit.
Since you're already past due, you have the option to be induced. If you're interested, call your doctor Monday morning and explain your situation to him. Tell him you're afraid that you'll go into labor and won't make it to the hospital in time, and ask him if he will induce you. That way things will be more "controlled".

im not over due but i kinda know what u are going through im having twins and i had to switch doctors cause of my insurance i had to switch when i was 20 weeks along im know 31 weeks and i live a hour away from my Doctor and if i deliver early i have to go two hours to the doctor im super scared my doctor just told me if i have contraction regular one but Little farther apart to call and then come in i would talk to your doctor maybe if u don't feel comfortable they could induce u. that might not be a bad idea if your already 4 days over due maybe they will cause u live so far away id call and ask good luck i know ever thing will turn out great congrats on the baby girl!

I was in labor while driving to the hospital. LOL, but only 2cm for hours. I had potocin to help me out.
Wants your 7 days past they will induce you. So you are almost there. You are already 2cm so when you go in they will give you some potocin and then once you get to 4cm they will break your water and you should be good to go from there.

hey, i live an hour and a half away, and so does my prego sister. our game plan is when we first start feeling anything that could be real labor is to drive to the hospital, get checked, and if sent home to go stay at my other sisters house (whos also prego, lol) that lives in the city with the hospital and stay there till we need to go and stay in the hospital. if you have nobody to stay with i suggest renting a hotel room. its better to be safe than sorry! but good luck and hope you get to meet your baby soon :)
