Honda Powertrain Warrenty?

hi, i went to a body shop to get my 2006 civic checked out because it was making noise whenever i turned my steering wheel all the way to the right. The body shop said that there was something wrong with the right front axle, in which they needed to take off the cv boot to check out the actual axle. But was going to charge more than $200!!My limited warranty is already up but my honda still has the 5 yr powertrain warranty so i was wondering if i bought it to a honda dealership will checking and fixing the axle be covered under the warranty? What is a powertrain warranty anyhow?

The powertrain is the engine, transmission, axles and such.

If the issue was a defect in a part or assembly, it would be covered. If it was from an accident or abuse, then it won't be covered. If the car has never been in an accident, then it will most likely be covered at the dealer.

It should be covered, I believe.

I mean, come on. It's Honda. The Power of friggin' Dreams.

A powertrain warranty is anything in the direct line connection motor to wheels. Motor, transmission, transfer case if 4WD, axles, and probably wheel assembly if FWD. Does not include starter, alternator, AC, power steering pump, belts hoses, or anything else not in line with the motor. Power train. Power from the motor and like a train what is it connected to.

    Good luck missy.
