isnt the RCC proof that you can't have Church and State mixed?

the people who say that were "God's Church", is ironically the reason that church and state were made separate, because it caused problems.

so isn't the RCC proof that Church and State can't mix, no matter if you have "Jesus' representative" leading you?

Update:

protesting the report nazis eh? lol

Update 2:

Vatican city also just sits there, it's not like they do anything. lol

Update 3:

true, but that allll started because of the selling of indulgences, and then Martin Luther took a stand.

So the original cause, was the RCC. lol

Just for the record, the "selling of indulgences" was a short-lived practice, and was condemned by the leadership of the Cathlic Church at the Council of Trent in the 1500s...the over-blown BS used by anti-Catholics is as offensive to any real historian as the Maria Monk stories...

That said, the original political philosophies (circa 1600-1700s) that sought to establish a separation of Church and State were actually based on the disillusionments about wars over religion, which were tearing Europe apart at the time.

The RCC was just a player in the game, back then

But I think the modern Western Thoughts about the "backward" nature of countries that allow their churches to run their states is what sustains it nowadays. "Grow Up Loser Report-Nazi's! " has given you a starter list of that sort of justifiable suspicion about Church-run states in the modern world....you may think that "well, it wouldn't be that way if Christians ran the country", but that's a pipe-dream - it was the growing philosophies about the movements in the Enlightenment that led us to the modern world, not Christianity itself....the entrenchment of the medieval world is the fault of the RCC, but then, it was pretty much the only brand of Christianity around for 1500 years...

I agree you shouldn't mix Church and State.

Just for the record They were trying to keep the state out of the Church not the Church out of the State. The Kings found out they could control more people if they controlled the Church. So the division was to keep the state out.

The Church doesn't want to run the state.

You mean like The Holy Roman Empire and The Holy Roman Empire of The German Nation ?

They, the RCC made all the Kings of Europe and gave them The Divine Right to rule over us. Not very seperate is it ?

There's no ought to ban creationism, it simply has no situation in a technological know-how study room. A individual can ship their baby to a devout institution in the event that they wish their children to gain knowledge of creationism, or they are able to coach their children themselves at residence. If we had been to coach creationism in institution (as truth) we might additionally ought to coach the construction experiences of alternative essential religions in order that the youngsters might have same publicity and would make up their possess minds. If you consider instructing children that a fine raven created the sector... and many others. is somewhat foolish, then instructing creationism is similarly foolish. The reality is that children are often taught approximately the unique construction experiences in English elegance after they research global Lit. That is the situation for the lessons of the bible in a public institution.

    >>the people who say that were "God's Church", is ironically the reason that church and state were made separate, because it caused problems.<<

Have you even heard of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Archbishop Laud, etc.? Do you know why the Pilgrims came here? Hint: not because of the Catholic Church.

    No.

In fact, the Vatican is a state run by a church so I would say it's the exact opposite.

  • 1 decade ago

Yea, the problem with the RCC, is that they try to condemn people for the same actions they commit in their lives, until they are caught red handed, then they try to back track the false image they may have been portraying

    Odd thing,

    I agree with you 100%.

The job of the Pope is to get us to heaven, not run Social programs and build roads.

    Pope's are human.

I want my Faith and Religion to help me get to heaven, and my Government to take care of the trivial things of this world.

I hope the fundamentalist think about it as well.

    Peace be with you.

Source(s): Catholic Convert (Would fight against any Theoracy) But, you are wrong, the Vatican does a lot.
