Can I not get hired because I was fired from my previous job?
At my current job, I am 1 write up way from getting terminated, which I never deserved the write-ups, total BS .. but anyways, if I get fired and I list the place I currently work at as a reference on applications for other jobs, would they think twice about hiring me? I have been with the same company since January, and I want to leave badly .. but I want to apply to other places and want to make sure I can get hired somewhere else before putting in my 2 weeks notice at my current workplace..
So, (1) Can me saying I was fired at my old job make me not get hired, and (2) Does the 7 months i've been with the company matter overall?
Thanks!

depends on if they think the write ups are bad enough on your part and what you got fired for..... or if they get good enough recomendation about you....

Unfortunately, I have been fired before. Of course, any prospective employer will ask you why you are not employed at that position anymore. I honestly do not think according to laws that they can say that you were terminated but they can tell them if you are rehire-able. I would tell the prospective employer that it was just not a good fit and you decided to explore other opportunities. One big NO NO never talk bad about a previous supervisor or company you worked for...it just makes you look bad.
Good Luck

Yes, you can get hired. Typically, to avoid lawsuits, the most a previous employer will give during a reference call are the dates an ex-employee worked for the company, and that's all. It's a very slippery slope to bad mouth a former employee - even if the person was a terrible employee.

I worked with a company for 4 years and they fired me for a bogus reason, and to add The department of labor found me not guilty of. ANd to be honest every Application i have filed I put them down and not once in a year have a gotten a call from a potential employer so they might say that they cant hold it against you but I still think they do.

Short answer: your prior employment history is often all an employer has to go on when considering who to fire. Of COURSE being fired will reflect badly. Think of it this way: if you had two equally experienced employees, and one was fired for some reason, while the other left due to other reasons, which one would YOU pick?
Actions have consequences, your work history will follow you for many years. Think about that.

It certainly won't look good that you were fired, but depending on your other qualifications they may look past it. Or they may not even care that you were fired and give you a chance anyways. Be prepared, however, to explain what happened at your previous work place in an interview. They will want to know why you left and what happened.
