I forgot the cream cheese!!!?
Earlier today we went grocery shopping. We bought some bagels, BUT, I forgot to grab cream cheese! What else can I put on a bagel until I get back to the store?? Something simple would be preferred
ok i know this sounds dumb... i doubt the bagels will fit in my toaster, could i put each half on a burner on my stove and toast them that way?? you know like you would with soft tortillas??
Andrzej- youare an effing genious!! i love love love garlic!! when i pick up the cream cheese, ill also have to grab a small jar of spaghetti sauce those sounded yummy too!!

Butter and jelly, or just butter, on a toasted bagel.
Peanut butter on a toasted bagel.
Spaghetti sauce and parmesan or other grated Italian cheeses, broil until the cheese melts.

Preheat the oven to 350.
Cut bagel in half, butter each half, and sprinkle with a little bit of garlic powder or garlic salt. Place on baking sheet or tin foil and put in oven until toasted as much as you like. If you have a slice of tomato or cucumber that would be delicious on them as well.
You can also melt a slice of cheese, muenster is my favorite.
Another idea, if you have the ingredients, make pizza bagels. Use a jar of spaghetti sauce and some mozzerella and bake in oven on baking sheet or foil.

Butter works fine, with or without jam. You can also just melt regular cheese on them.
If you have any laughing cow cheese (the spreadable wedges), that's great on bagels.

jam, butter, hummus
I like canned tuna (mixed with a bit of olive oil and seasoning) and some spinach on a toasted bagel. not too complex but not boring like butter.

Did it bake in the danish, and did you add sugar? If the answer is yes to both, I would give it a try. The sugar would actually prevent bacteria from growing. If the reverse were true, then they should be in refrigerated cases in the bakery.
