Lap top mouse from Desk top to lap top usage.?

Up until now I have always use a desk top for my computing. But I've just bought a lap top and am a bit lost without my mouse at hand.

I have a fairly new spare mouse that I had for my desktop. Can I use this, and I'm not sure, if I still have the CD for it,but am sure, I have it somewhere, if I look.

I just don't want to plug in the wrong type of mouse.

Thanks for any answers.

Of course you can. Your computer should automatically detect a generic driver for the mouse, so it should just be plug and play. You can always update the driver within windows if you need to(for example, if you suddenly experience the BSOD). Although, you'll need to get a PS/2 to USB adapter if the mouse is PS/2. If it's USB then just plug it in.

There isnt really the wrong type of mouse, all mice are the same apart from the connection they have along as it fits in your laptop, it will be fine. You might not need the cd as the computer should install the drivers for you.
