I am a mom now but when i was growing up i had some very younger brothers. my youngest brother was very very short. he was teased terribly at school and never could get a date. they told my mom to do the growth hormones. she started and abruptly stopped. it was taking a toll on his self esteem because now he felt like his family thought there was something wrong with him too. needless to say my brother now out of college is a whopping 6'1 and did that all on his own just took more time then the others. i would trust your guts on this and not what the doctor is telling you. doctors are problem solvers by nature and have a hard time waiting for things to work themselves out.

my son had similar results...at 11 years old he had the bone age of an 8 year old. He was put on humotrope brand growth hormone 6 night per week. In less than 2 years he grew 7 inches and gained 30 pounds. This is about double what they would expect for a child that age. he is still small and needs to go back on hormones again, but people *were* noticing his growth.
ETA: guru is an idiot...no one expects overnight growth. My son gained 5 pounds and grew 1.25 inches in 3 months.
growth hormones *can* be dangerous, but only when used for the wrong reasons ( such as by healthy bodybuilders or athletes).
HGH is expensive...I think it was $90 per mg...however, the drug companies have "charity programs" that will pay if insurance will not pay. I got my son's 100% free including needles, alcohol wipes and sharps container.

OK, I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but I must explain this all to you.
1. Growth hormone is DANGEROUS; the negative side effects could mess up your children for years.
2. Growth hormone is SLOW; it takes month or even years to notice an increase in height or growth rate.
3. growth hormone is EXPENSIVE; it can cost thousands of dollars a WEEK for growth hormone.
Did you talk to a GP or an Endocrinologist/Osteophysciologist? GP's have little to NO experience in this area of medical science. Also, charts and height predictors are highly inaccurate.
