So in this society, liars are the winners?

"while a brand-new study, commissioned by the publishers of Feldman's book, shows that 18- to 34-year-olds—those of us fully reared in this lying culture—deceive more frequently than the general population"

So my girlfriend who is married was with a married man, a mistress for almost 7 years, but she never told the man she was going to marry this and he still does not know. She lied.

My other girlfriend has a lot of problems, is on medication for depression and anxiety, and her fiancee does not know this and she has asked us not to ever tell him. She thinks he will not marry her if she does. FEAR has lead her to lie. Yeah, and who want kids from a woman who has so many emotional problems, right??

I guess we do live in a society full of liars, even if they are lies to protect us from such a judgemental society.

Update:

Liars get what they want. They avoid punishment, and they win others' affection. Liars make themselves sound smart and savvy, they attain power over those of us who believe them, and they often use their lies to rise up in the professional world. Many liars have fun doing it. And many more take pride in getting away with it.

    Hello,

For a while liars can get away with things with impunity but eventually things will catch up with a vengeance. The worst risk a liar can take is to change his or her story which becomes necessary at times and they are caught up in their lies.

Look at the famous financiers who were riding high in their lies and got caught. Their next investments should be soap on a rope and no doubt they'll have to watch their backs because of irate investors waiting to do them in when they are released.

    Cheers,

liars never win. Lies come back to bite you in the butt and then nobody will ever believe you again. You need to hang out with a better class of people.

Maybe in THIS life, but then it all depends on what you view as winning.
