why does 北京 regulate what 中国人 can view?

We need to protect our Chinese society from harmful and dangerous influences that can corrupt and disrupt the harmony in our society. Censorship is essential in China to maintain social harmony.

Chinese Netizens need time to understand how to behave responsibly on the Internet and that its not a place where you can do anything. It is essential that the information flow on the Internet in China be controlled till all citizens get educated to behave responsibly on the Internet.

I really dont think 北京 can regulate 中国人的 views through interneet. There were many ppl around me who went abroad for studing or living, and I never heard there was anybody whose views changed dramatically after that.

I support limited regulation on internet, though there are some regulation which is unreasonable at present.

Most probably because they do not want to influence their population with all the trash seen on MeiGuoRen televisions. Secondly, their TV stations are State owned and MeiGuoRen's are privately owned.

The "regulation" is becoming slim as more and more exchanges of people and information between the Mainland and the outside world. Dont forget there're 0.3 billion Mainland bloggers, many of whom have their way to by pass any censorship.

It's inevitable that one day China's freedom of expressions will be on par with any outside country and that day is getting close.

Because China is ruled by an authoritarian despotic regime.

Chinese government don't want their people to see the information that may jeopardize the harmony of the society.

Actually you still can see what you want to see on the internet ,including Facebook and twitter.

China and Singapore are the new models of society that most developing countries are looking to as examples. A strong central government, with compassionate socialist benefits for its citizens, coupled with a powerful free market capitalist economy is the new model for world society.

America's mindless, unregulated, unethical social system has been permanently discredited by the ongoing financial crisis. Billionaire bankers taking government loans as citizens die in the streets with no health insurance. Is that the American concept of social freedom?

The American social and political model is dead. No developing country on Earth wants anything to do with it.

Because Chinese people need to be controlled and subjugated. They cannot work without being controlled.
